Sports Assistant

Location: Battersea Sports Centre

Grade and rate: SC3, £20,200 based on FT 40 hour contract

Enable Leisure and Culture is a new organisation, created out of the local authority sector as a Public Service Mutual, and have recently received charitable status. We provide a wide range of services across a leisure and cultural portfolio contracted out by Wandsworth Council.

Battersea Sports Centre is based in the heart of the Battersea Community offering indoor and outdoor activities for all ages. We are looking for an individual who has a passionate about increasing community sport participation.

We are looking for applicants with an awareness and commitment to customer care. A level 2 gym qualification and first aid is essential.

We’re looking for a number of enthusiastic and dedicated lifeguards ensure the safety of children on the Community Swim Programme in the borough of Wandsworth.

You will need to be reliable, energetic and enthusiastic with an ability to engage participants, spot hazards and prevent accidents while following ASA guidelines.

Working hours and days will vary.

Multi-sports coach (casual)

We’re looking for a number of enthusiastic and dedicated casual sports coaches to help deliver sports coaching in primary schools in the borough of Wandsworth.

You will provide schools with high quality sports coaching in a variety of sports, which may include coaching during curriculum time and/or running extra curricular sports clubs.

Coaches should be confident in delivering a variety of sports to KS1 and KS2 pupils (4-11 years) of mixed ability. All applicants must have a level 2 coaching qualification in a recognised sport. It is highly desirable that applicants have qualifications in more than one sport, or have a multi-sports qualification and background.

At Enable we are committed to supporting the training and development of the coaches we work with, to ensure that schools receive a high standard of provision. First Aid and safeguarding courses will be provided, as well as Continuous Personal Development (CPD) for all coaches.

Working hours and days will vary.

Access to your own transport is essential as you will be required to work at a variety of schools in the area.

Volunteering

Fundraising and Development (volunteer)
Location: Battersea Park

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a budding fundraiser with Enable Leisure and Culture. Your role will be to assist the Engagement and Fundraising Manager with fundraising and development tasks for projects in greenspaces of Wandsworth. We are looking for a team player who can help support projects that will range from arts, heritage, sports, biodiversity and environmental improvements. The role will develop fundraising and project development skills and provide experience of working in a medium sized charity. Depending on funding, paid positions may become available where volunteers will be encouraged to apply.
