Arboricultural Officer (2 posts)

Enable Leisure & Culture provides arboricultural management services to Wandsworth Council. We are looking for two motivated and experienced Arboricultural Officers to join a dedicated team in caring for Wandsworth’s trees.

You will have experience of urban tree management including surveys, mapping, and tree recording. You will have up to date knowledge of arboricultural practices and issues and be familiar with current arboricultural legislation. You will hold, or be working towards a National Diploma in Arboriculture and or have other relevant arboricultural qualifications. Candidates will need to be able to travel effectively around the borough to fulfil their duties.

The post requires the ability to participate in a rota system to provide 24 hour, seven-day call-out cover for assessing emergencies.

Senior Sports Development Officer (Full Time 40 hours a week)

Location: Battersea Park

Grade and rate: ENSO1 £29,290

Closing date: 12 noon, Wednesday 31 January 2018

Based in the Enable Leisure & Sport office in Battersea Park you will be the lead on a number of Sports Development programmes in Wandsworth, including being the Borough Team Organizer for the London Youth Games, organizing the Active Wandsworth Awards and being the lead on inclusive sport in the Borough. The role includes the line management of two members of staff supporting the work of young people and school participation. You will need to have experience in developing and delivering community Sports Development programmes as well as experience of managing staff. You should be organized and be able to develop and grow programmes, building key relationships and partnerships as well as successfully applying for external funding.

Information & Support Officer (15 to 24 hours a week (on negotiation, temporary post)

Based in the Enable Leisure & Sport office in Battersea Park supporting the sport and physical activity team and sports facilities. You will need to be organised and analytical, as well as having the ability to work with people at all levels, so good communication skills are key. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office software including excel and powerpoint is required.

Your duties will include:

  • Answering calls and email, monitoring feedback, enquiries and ensuring complaints are sent to the relevant person to respond.
  • Processing expense claims, timesheets for leisure services in line with Company Policy
  • Ordering of stationary and other items as required
  • Collation of various reports
  • Booking of meeting rooms as required
  • Administer the FANS scheme
  • General administration to support all staff within Leisure Services

We’re looking for a number of enthusiastic and dedicated lifeguards ensure the safety of children on the Community Swim Programme in the borough of Wandsworth.

You will need to be reliable, energetic and enthusiastic with an ability to engage participants, spot hazards and prevent accidents while following ASA guidelines.

Multi-sports coach (casual)

We’re looking for a number of enthusiastic and dedicated casual sports coaches to help deliver sports coaching in primary schools in the borough of Wandsworth.

You will provide schools with high quality sports coaching in a variety of sports, which may include coaching during curriculum time and/or running extra curricular sports clubs.

Coaches should be confident in delivering a variety of sports to KS1 and KS2 pupils (4-11 years) of mixed ability. All applicants must have a level 2 coaching qualification in a recognised sport. It is highly desirable that applicants have qualifications in more than one sport, or have a multi-sports qualification and background.

At Enable we are committed to supporting the training and development of the coaches we work with, to ensure that schools receive a high standard of provision. First Aid and safeguarding courses will be provided, as well as Continuous Personal Development (CPD) for all coaches.

Working hours and days will vary.

Access to your own transport is essential as you will be required to work at a variety of schools in the area.
