Case Study: Cultivate
Cultivate – a creative place making learning programme for young people in Nine Elms Battersea
Cultivate is a creative education project for young people, part of a cultural and place making programme focused on the Nine Elms regeneration area. Led by Wandsworth Council and the Nine Elms Vauxhall Partnership, this ambitious programme aims to establish a vibrant new centre for arts, life and culture on London’s South Bank and to ensure the area’s existing community is first to benefit from the area’s cultural revival.
Cultivate’s main goal is to shape and harness the impact that the public engagement work linked to the regeneration will have on young people locally, and to celebrate and showcase this nationally. This is made possible by investment from A New Direction, Wandsworth Council and Nine Elms developers and is one of seven projects in A New Direction’s London Cultural Education Challenge.
