Putney Vale Cemetery and Crematorium Memorial Service

Memory ribbon

We regret that, due to the Coronavirus outbreak the 2020 service (and planned open day) has been cancelled.

2019’s memorial service was held on Sunday 8th September.

The service, attended by over 70 people was held outside of the chapels on the floral terrace and we were joined by the Croydon Citadel Salvation Army Band who play before, during and after the service.

This service was led by Anglican Lay Minister Peter Joyce with Civil Celebrant, Grace Farrelly and the Mayor of Wandsworth also taking part. In the form of a collection after the service we supported Royal Trinity Hospice raising £120 for their good causes.  The hospice were represented by fundraiser Freddie Millburn-Fryer who spoke about the important work they do in the community.

After the service attendees were invited into the crematorium building to dedicate memory ribbons to their loved ones and have refreshments.

Next year Putney Vale will host an open day with walks and talks on the history of the cemetery and crematorium, notable and famous people who are buried or had been cremated here.  More information will appear on this page nearer the time

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 13th September 2020.
