The Health and Wellbeing Team are looking for a dynamic Health and Wellbeing Coordinator to coordinate the men’s weight management programme in WandsworthThis is a fixed-term role until 31st March 2022, with a view to extension.  

This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in coordinating a targeted weight management programme with the opportunity of scaling delivery up across the borough. You will be responsible for all elements of the delivery of this programme including promotion, staffing, facility bookings, and monitoring.  

We are looking for candidates to demonstrate knowledge of the sector and an understanding of methods for working with targeted groups to encourage participation. Successful applicants will have experience in coordinating weight management or similar programmes and have excellent organisational skills, experience of using Microsoft Office, and good communication skills.

Job Purpose 

  • To coordinate the delivery of all elements of the men’s weight management programme, including marketing and promotion, recruitment of participants, staffing, delivery of activities, and monitoring and evaluation.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

  • To coordinate the delivery of the men’s weight management programme in line with the service delivery models. Acts as a first point of contact for all men’s weight management enquiries to the Health and Wellbeing office. 
  • Recruit nutritionists, instructors, and volunteers to deliver the programmes ensuring all members of the team are appropriately qualified. 
  • Coordinate and supervise delivery staff including nutritionists, instructors, and volunteers. Organise and coordinate training and development opportunities, as necessary. 
  • Market and promote the programme to health professionals, primary care, NHS Health Checks, Public Health, and other relevant bodies to increase referrals.  
  • Create a promotional plan to promote and execute all promotional activities including attendance at community events, delivering posters/fliers at GP surgeries, pharmacies, local sports clubs, community halls, leisure facilities etc. 
  • Input new referrals and assessment data onto the Views system and monitor/update regularly.  
  • Monitor and report on programme statistics including attendances, weight loss, behaviour changes and use this data to plan and implement strategies to continually improve in key areas. Ensure the programme achieves the KPI’s agreed with the Commissioning Authority. 
  • Research and promote, or if required develop, suitable exit routes to participants at the end of each programme.  
  • Moderate team WhatsApp groups to ensure discussions are appropriate. Use these groups to support healthy eating messages and promote regular attendance.

  • The postholder will be required to work some evenings or weekends to support Enable and programme events or sessions and attend meetings with all teams and external agencies.
