Sport & Physical Activity Intern – Enable Leisure and Culture
1 Year Placement

Enable Leisure and Culture are looking for a dynamic, full time Sports and Physical Activity Intern to support a wide range of programmes and initiatives in Wandsworth. This is a 12-month placement suitable for someone looking to take a placement year during their studies. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in our busy Sports Development and Physical Activity team. You will work on various projects and programmes during the placement as well as supporting our community events. We are looking for candidates to demonstrate knowledge of the sector including national, regional, and local strategies, and an understanding of methods for working with targeted groups to encourage participation. Successful applicants will have excellent organisational skills, experience of using Microsoft Office, and good communication skills.

Bereavement Services Administrator
Location: Putney Vale Cemetery and Crematorium SW15 3DZ
Salary: ENSC4 £21,852
Hours per week: 40

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist in the day to day running of the cemetery and crematorium office joining a small but highly motivated professional administrative team.

Reporting to the Assistant Bereavement Services Manager, you will be responsible for receiving and dealing with enquiries from the public and liaising with funeral directors and clergy in person, by phone and letter/email including associated payment transactions. This will also include accepting and processing documents, handling cremated remains caskets and burial attendance duties.

You should have experience in an administrative capacity in a related environment linked to bereavement or a care-based industry dealing with the bereaved. Experience of using computerised administration systems based on Microsoft packages with sound knowledge of database input is essential.

You will be dealing with the bereaved in often stressful circumstances; it is therefore essential that you have a high level of empathy and good communication and customer care skills.

Crematorium Technician
Location: North East Surrey Crematorium (NESC)
Salary: ENSC4 £21,852
Hours per week: 40

Enable Leisure & Culture Bereavement Services section is looking for a highly motivated person to work at North East Surrey Crematorium. Reporting to the Crematorium Manager you will be responsible for a range of crematorium and burial duties to ensure the delivery of a high quality and sensitive service of Enable’s statutory responsibilities to Funeral Directors and the bereaved.

You must either hold a cremator technicians qualification or be prepared to study for the qualification. Normal working hours will be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. The job requires a flexible approach as you will be based at North East Surrey Crematorium but on occasion be required to work at Putney Vale Crematorium also managed by Enable. Post holders are also required to work additional hours to cover late and weekend cremations and duties which will be paid in addition to the standard hours of work.

Arts Marketing Manager
Location: Battersea Park

We are looking for a skilled marketing and communications professional to join our team. Working closely with the rest of the Arts team – whose projects include managing and curating the Pump House Gallery, managing the annual Wandsworth Arts Fringe and Wandsworth Artists Open House, working closely with schools on the Cultivate education programme, promotion of cultural regeneration projects including public art and numerous ad hoc projects – this role is instrumental in ensuring we deliver innovative and successful marketing and communications strategies to promote all these strands of our work through a combination of online and offline strategies and tools.

This dynamic and varied role requires someone who is passionate about growing audiences for the arts and is a great communicator with imaginative ideas. Ideally, you will have arts marketing experience and have a good knowledge of the London Arts scene. Your exceptional communication skills will enable you to forge strong working relationships with colleagues across Enable Leisure and Culture, external stakeholders and suppliers.

Proactive and extremely well organised, you will have the ability to juggle multiple, demanding projects. To support the smooth running of the arts team’s projects, you will also be responsible for managing the Marketing Assistant and external agencies such as PR or website consultants as well as interns/work placements.

Enable Arts is part of Enable Leisure and Culture, a charity that provides leisure and cultural services to Wandsworth Council.

Multi-sports coach (casual)
Location: Wandsworth

We’re looking for a number of enthusiastic and dedicated casual sports coaches to help deliver sports coaching in primary schools in the borough of Wandsworth.

You will provide schools with high quality sports coaching in a variety of sports, which may include coaching during curriculum time and/or running extra curricular sports clubs.

Coaches should be confident in delivering a variety of sports to KS1 and KS2 pupils (4-11 years) of mixed ability. All applicants must have a level 2 coaching qualification in a recognised sport. It is highly desirable that applicants have qualifications in more than one sport, or have a multi-sports qualification and background.

At Enable we are committed to supporting the training and development of the coaches we work with, to ensure that schools receive a high standard of provision. First Aid and safeguarding courses will be provided, as well as Continuous Personal Development (CPD) for all coaches.

Working hours and days will vary.

Access to your own transport is essential as you will be required to work at a variety of schools in the area.

Volunteering

Fundraising and Development (volunteer)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a budding fundraiser with Enable Leisure & Culture. Your role will be to assist the Engagement and Fundraising Manager with fundraising and development tasks for projects in greenspaces of Wandsworth. We are looking for a team player who can help support projects that will range from arts, heritage, sports, biodiversity and environmental improvements. The role will develop fundraising and project development skills and provide experience of working in a medium sized charity. Depending on funding, paid positions may become available where volunteers will be encouraged to apply.
