Enable Leisure & Culture is a charity which aims to improve the health and wellbeing of Wandsworth residents. We provide a range of services on behalf of Wandsworth Council and deliver initiatives on behalf of Wandsworth Clinical Commissioning Group. The Health & Wellbeing team deliver programmes that aim to increase physical activity levels and to prevent and manage long term conditions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven person to join our team and help deliver a physical activity programme for people living with and beyond cancer. The successful candidate will hold a Level 4 Cancer and Exercise Rehabilitation and Motivational Interviewing qualification or be willing to undertake training immediately.

Macmillan Move More Wandsworth has been operating for 3 years in the borough. We meet clients 1:1 and apply a person-centred approach, supported by motivational interviewing techniques to help clients get back to activity.

Battersea Sports Centre is located on Hope Street and comprises of an multi sports hall, 3G pitch, Fitness Gym, exercise studio and multi use area. In close proximity to this is our sister site Falcon Park Pitches consisting of outdoor 3G pitches. The role may involve working across both sites according to the needs of the business.

An excellent opportunity for a proactive person keen to get involved in a wider range of activities including outdoor and indoor sports and fitness. With experience of working in a sports facility or another customer care environment, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre. This will involve reception duties, recording attendance figures and monitoring use of equipment through to preparing equipment for activities and events and ensuring health & safety. You will liaise with individuals, schools and sports clubs to promote our facilities to the local community and increase participation. You must be a clear communicator who prides themselves on providing excellent customer service. You’ll be organised with strong administrative, numerical skills and have experience of dealing with enquiries face-to-face, via telephone and email.

A level 2 Gym Qualification is desirable

Bereavement Services Administrator

Location: Putney Vale Cemetery and Crematorium
Contract Type: Permanent
Grade & salary: ENSc4 – £22,317 (full time 40 hours)

We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist in the day to day running of the cemetery and crematorium office joining a small but highly motivated professional administrative team.

Based at Putney Vale Cemetery and Crematorium and reporting to the Bereavement Services Manager, you will be responsible for receiving and dealing with enquiries from the public and liaising with funeral directors and clergy in person, by phone and letter/email including associated payment transactions. This will also include accepting and processing documents, handling cremated remains caskets and burial attendance duties.

You should have proven experience in an administrative capacity. Experience in a related environment linked to bereavement or a care-based industry would be an advantage. Experience of using computerised administration systems based on Microsoft packages with sound knowledge of database input is essential.

You will be dealing with the bereaved in often stressful circumstances; it is therefore essential that you have a high level of empathy and good communication and customer care skills.

Sport & Physical Activity Officer

Parks Operations Manager

Location: Wandsworth Common

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to manage operational services across the existing 1600 acre portfolio.

This uniquely challenging role will test your existing skills and experience in contract management, grounds maintenance, ecology, biodiversity and groundsmanship as you deliver the highest quality of green space for residents and visitors to Wandsworth.

The portfolio of green space you will be responsible for range from small pocket parks, housing sites, allotments, cemeteries, sports pitches, plus sites of regional importance in heritage and biodiversity such as Tooting and Wandsworth Commons and the iconic Grade II listed Battersea Park.

You will be expected to manage operations across a range of spaces each with their own site-specific challenges while ensuring consistent cost control within set budgets.

You will need to be reactive to challenges that may arise all year round plus ensuring plans and processes are in place to deal with planned horticultural requirements throughout the seasons.

You will be a key member of the Parks team, taking overall responsibility for the day to day management and delivery of the horticultural ground’s maintenance service throughout the borough of Wandsworth.
