We are looking for a caring and sensitive person to work within our crematorium team to help us ensure that funerals are conducted with the highest levels of care and sensitivity that are expected by the bereaved and by our stakeholders. You will provide assistance and advice to the bereaved in sometimes stressful and emotional circumstances.

The job involves a variety of duties including the cremation of the deceased, administration, security of buildings and chapels, witnessing the scattering/burial of ashes, gardening, and cleaning duties.

Bereavement Services Attendant
Location: Putney Vale Crematorium, SW15 3DZ
Contract: Casual

Hours: 7 per week
Grade & Rate of Pay: ENSc3, £11.14 per hour (Including holiday uplift)

We are looking for a caring and sensitive person to carry out chapel duties and related tasks at Putney Vale Cemetery and Crematorium predominantly on Sundays and Bank Holidays and occasional Saturdays to cover staff absence.

The job involves a variety of duties including assisting with weekend funerals, light administration work, the security of buildings and chapels, accompanying the bereaved for the scattering or burial of ashes, and cleaning duties. You will provide assistance and advice to the bereaved in sometimes stressful and emotional circumstances.

You will need a flexible attitude to working hours with an average of 7 hours per week, in addition to working a proportion of each of the Bank Holidays and covering our other attendant on Saturdays during leave periods.

Event Account Executive (Outdoor Venues)

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Event Account Executive (Outdoor Venues) who will be responsible to the Events Manager for assisting the day to day venue management of events taking place in all outdoor event spaces across the borough’s parks and open spaces; administrative and office support for the Events Team; and assisting with the delivery of events produced by the Events Team as a whole.

The role will focus on venue hire and onsite event support for outdoor events that happen in the parks and open spaces of Wandsworth Borough, most notably Battersea Park, Tooting Common and Wandsworth Park. Enable Leisure & Culture is a registered charity that provides leisure and cultural services on behalf of Wandsworth Council. We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Event Account Executive (Indoor Venues) who will be responsible to the Events Manager for the day to day venue management of events within Battersea Park taking place at the Battersea Evolution, Pump House Gallery, Bandstand, Bowling Green and Conference Room; assisting with the development of new business opportunities; and assisting with the delivery of events produced by the Events Team as a whole.

Event Production Manager

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Event Production Manager who will be responsible to the Events Manager for the research, development, production and delivery of Live at the Bandstand, Battersea Park Fireworks and all new production initiatives; and assisting with the delivery of any other events produced by the Events Team as a whole.

The role will focus on developing the current summer events into a month-long program as well as assist the Events Manager in successfully delivering Wandsworth Council’s Battersea Park Fireworks in November 2019. The role involves a significant amount of research and development of the Enable produced events including identifying new revenue / sponsorship opportunities, budget planning and allocation, new supplier sourcing and contract negotiations to ensure increased commercial viability of the events. The events produced will include music and food festivals, family days, dog show, outdoor screenings and a fireworks show. The role works closely with the Event Manager and Event Account Manager (Outdoor Venues).

Sports Assistant
Location: Battersea Park

Enable Leisure and Culture is a new organisation, created out of the local authority sector as a Public Service Mutual, and have recently received charitable status. We provide a wide range of services across a leisure and cultural portfolio contracted out by Wandsworth Council.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive person keen to get involved in a wider range of activities including outdoor and indoor sports and fitness. With experience of working in a sports facility or another customer care environment, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre. This will involve reception duties, getting involved with recording attendance figures and monitoring use of equipment through to preparing equipment for activities and events and ensuring health & safety.

You will also work within the fitness area dealing with inductions and programmes or assist with activities on the pitches. There may be the opportunity to deliver Personal Training to members depending on your qualifications. You will liaise with individuals, schools and sports clubs to promote our facilities to the local community and increase participation. You must be a clear communicator who prides themselves on providing excellent customer service. You will be organised with strong administrative, numerical skills and have experience of taking bookings.

We are looking for applicants with an awareness and commitment to customer care. A first aid qualification is desirable.

Assistant Bereavement Services Manager
Location: Putney Vale Crematorium and Wandsworth Cemeteries, SW15 3DZ

We are looking for a self-motivated, organised and enthusiastic individual to work in our Bereavement services team based at Putney Vale Cemetery and Crematorium.

Reporting to the Bereavement Services Manager, you will be responsible for the direct management of the administration team and for providing support to both the crematorium and cemetery operational teams. You will be responsible for a range of administrative and financial duties including statutory function, invoicing and statistical reporting.

You will have experience in working in a similar environment and of managing a team within the sector. Experience of using computerised administration systems based on Microsoft packages with sound knowledge of database input is essential.

You will be dealing with the bereaved in often stressful circumstances; it is therefore essential that you have a high level of empathy and good communication and customer care skills.

Lifeguard (casual)

We’re looking for a number of enthusiastic and dedicated lifeguards ensure the safety of children on the Community Swim Programme in the borough of Wandsworth.

You will need to be reliable, energetic and enthusiastic with an ability to engage participants, spot hazards and prevent accidents while following ASA guidelines.

Working hours and days will vary.
