We are a rapidly growing company and our Health and Wellbeing Team is looking to recruit a Health and Wellbeing Development Officer to support the growth and development of new and existing programmesWe are looking for someone who has the right blend of analytical talent, a general understanding of public health and business know-how. A team player who not only understands how to identify a new opportunity, but also know what it takes to move things forward and realise that opportunity. We are looking for someone with great communication skills, as you’ll be expected to interact with both internal and external stakeholders including health professionals. Successful applicants will need to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and a minimum of an intermediate level using Microsoft Office, especially excel.

Job Purpose: 

  • To support the growth of internal services across the health and wellbeing portfolio with a focus on the Wandsworth Social Prescribing project and implement procedures and processes to monitor the effectiveness of all programmes.  

Main Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement processes to support all projects/programmes delivered across the health and wellbeing portfolio. 
  • Research new Public Health opportunities across targeted areas and develop a clear picture of gaps in services. 
  • Use a project management approach in developing new services from design, implementation to completion 
  • Support the development of evaluation data within the Health and Wellbeing Team; improve collection, analysis, and sharing of existing data and investigate new opportunities.  
  • Working in partnership with various agencies across health, physical activity, primary care, secondary care, and social care and organisations where appropriate. 
  • Planning and implementing programmes to meet the identified needs of the community in line with local, regional, and national health and wellbeing, and physical activity policies/strategies. 
  • Work with Health and Wellbeing Management Team to develop new areas of business including preparing and submitting contract tenders, and funding applications. 
  • Support development of systems to monitor performance ensuring the achievement of specified quality standards and performance measures. 
  • Working with the Marketing and Communication Department prepare and deliver strategies and plans for programmes that encompass a variety of modes including; press releases, social media, the website and attending community events.

  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibilities of the post. 
  • Evening and weekend working as required and this is subject to seasonal variations.

  1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to converse with key people (including clients and the public) and develop new networks using a range of methods, including oral, written, telephone and in meetings.

  1. Strong IT and web-based skills, with experience of using all applications within the Microsoft Office suite.
