Artists’ Open House
Artists’ Open House: Are you a local artist wanting to host your own show?
Wandsworth Artists’ Open House is back this October and looking for artists to take part.
This is a unique experience where artists open their homes, studios or other venues to show and sell work direct to the public.
Last year approximately 10,000 people visited Wandsworth to discover the hidden talents of its arts scene and to browse and buy art in a relaxed setting.
The annual event is a key part of Wandsworth Council’s arts support programme and is organised by the authority’s contractor Enable Leisure and Culture, in partnership with an Artists Steering Group.
Arts spokesperson for the Council, Jonathan Cook said:
“If you are a local artist looking to show your work and benefit from networking with other artists, go to wandsworthart.com and register to take part in this year’s event.
The scheme offers an affordable opportunity to showcase your work, as well as the chance to test and sell new work, grow customer bases and to learn from the experiences of other artists taking part.”
This year it’s easier than ever for artists who don’t have a venue to get involved. Our new ‘Artists’ Seeking Venues’ service matches artists looking for a venue with those looking to share theirs. We are particularly keen to help provide emerging artists with an affordable exhibition space and the opportunity of showcasing their work to a new audience. In turn, artists who share their venue will benefit from a bigger visitor reach, and help on the day.
All registration is via wandsworthart.com
