Coach Education

We encourage coaches to become professional to increase their skills and knowledge. To do so we can direct coaches to further qualification courses, and funding pots to help access those courses

We also host generic coaching courses, e.g. UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshops and First Aid courses.

Business Savvey Sports Development Workshop

This interactive workshop provided clubs and organisations involved with community sport with the understanding and skills to be better equipped to deliver better outcomes and more sustainable sporting and community projects.

Fundraising & Small Grants Workshop

This workshop was delivered by London Sport’s ClubWorks partner organisation StreetGames. The core focus of the workshop was on securing ‘small grants’ – those of £10,000 and under. Participants explored the differences between a grant, commission and commercial contracts, the differences between compiling small and large grants, and how to choose and write small grant applications. They also received guidance on the current fundraising landscape and top tips on how to develop funding applications.

Club Development Workshop

This workshop helped organisations understand the new GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) that came into force on the 1st May 2018. They also looked at what support is available for clubs and organisations, along with information on Sport England funding and local opportunities.

Club Matters Club Structures Workshop

This workshop was delivered by Sport England Club Matters and focused on the different types of structures and statuses available for clubs and gave an understanding of the pros and cons for each. It also emphasised the importance of the structure itself to a club or organisation and how the structure could benefit plans for the club going forward.
