Foodstock LDN is back, and it is bigger and better than ever before

Battersea Park’s biggest food festival is back from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 July and this year there is the new edition – Friday NIGHT. At 5pm, grab your colleagues, friends and family and head to Battersea Park for well-deserved after work drinks, stuff yourselves with mouth-watering street food and sip on cool and refreshing drinks whilst listening to live electro swing in the glorious sunshine.

Take in the hit of flavour from Spinach, who will be serving up the best fresh vegetable menu that London has to offer. Make sure you try Smokoloko as they put on a culinary display of the juiciest meat in town. The bar will be well stocked with craft beer from local brewery, Mondo Brewing Company, and jugs of PIMMS on hand to ease you into the weekend.

Ready for an onslaught of street food? Kurbside Kitchen will be bringing gourmet hot dogs – high quality mouth-watering beef, pork, chorizo and tofu natural skin hot dogs encased for a perfect snap. Placed inside a Brioche sub baked daily by their artisan baker. Delish. Leading the plant based fast food revolution, Greenbox are the place to head for vegetarian and vegan burgers, hotdogs and popcorn tofu. If you can’t head for South America on your summer holidays this year, take a trip to Guasacaca, the Venezuelan street food, offering arepas and other Venezuelan traditional dishes.

Whilst you tuck into a feast, there will be live sets from The After Hours, the UKs first Electro-Swing band to blend belligerent bass, beats and brass to devastating effect. Fizzy Gillespie – best known for taking the Vintage sounds of 1930’s Swing to 1960’s Soul, as well as everything in between – will be spinning the decks in between sets.

 

The fun continues on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 July as the jam packed, three-day food festival opens up the famers’ market and free interactive workshops to join the very best street food, craft beer, live music, free children’s activities and free face painting.

Over the weekend, bring your friends, the kids, and the dog on Saturday 28 July, 12 – 7pm and Sunday 29 July, 12 – 6pm for an afternoon of FREE activities for the children and browsing the tasty treats in the farmers’ market. Pop along to check out our FREE workshops and learn all about the latest in food trends, meal ideas for fussy eaters, and see some very talented chefs at work.

Whether you’re sweet toothed or have more of a savoury palate, we’ve got something tasty for you. Our global-inspired flavours include Korean BBQ, Indian, Caribbean, contemporary Moroccan, Nigerian, Greek, Brazilian, Venezuelan, Chinese, Spanish, French, Italian, South African – even sushi burritos! And our menus cater to vegetarian, gluten free, vegan, meat-lovers; no matter who you are or where you hail from, you just need to love food and music.

The main bar will be featuring local craft beer by Mondo Brewing Company – featuring Mondo’s best seller: Dennis Hopp’r IPA. A big, juicy IPA that’s packed full of flavour! Citrus, pine and tropical fruit flavours from loads of lovely hops, with a full body and a touch of sweetness from the malt. There will be also be a mixer bar and prosecco bar!

As for music, it wouldn’t be a food festival without some of the best live music in town. Saturday’s toe tapping tunes are courtesy of Indigo Shades ft Annie Dehaney-Steven and Peanut Shuffle Club. They will be playing a range of swing, jazz, and blues. Hard times swing tunes to fill your heart with gladness and your boots with dances! One of the early pioneers of Electro Swing, retro remix and world beats in the UK, DJ Jon Bongly will be spinning live sets of swing, and other vintage remix including funk, soul, blues in between acts.

Sunday’s line up will be lively foot-stompin’ good time swing with Vintage Hot Swing quintet Zoot Zazou and The Cable Street Rag Band. DJ Jon Bongly will again keep toes tapping in between sets.

Delve into the free, interactive workshop tents to learn from the best. Across the weekend, the wildly talented Ben Spalding will be hosting a cooking master class. Sofie Hope is the person in the know when it comes to fussy eaters. If you are struggling with a fussy eater in the family, come along to understand the best way approach it.

Rakesh Ravindran Nair, Head Chef at Cinnamon Kitchen Battersea, will be showing guests how to make Keema Litti with anchovy chutney and paprika raita. Or maybe you fancy learning about Chocolate Meditation with Qiming Wuu as she takes you on an experience of Conscious Eating.

Have you ever wanted to learn about craft beer styles? Now you can at Mondo Brewing Company’s workshops. Mondo will provide cold samples across a variety of styles, explaining the different ingredients and processes for each beer! Plus, you will find a well-stocked bar full of Mondo beers on site.

Foodstock LDN is a dog friendly event, well behaved dogs are welcome at the event and there will be lots of water around to keep them hydrated! In addition, Foodstock LDN has teamed up with Beco Food who use ethical and sustainable fresh meat and fish. Every recipe is grain free, gluten free and packed with nutritious veg and superfoods and their recipes have all the natural nutrients your howling hound needs to stay fit and healthy.
