Guys Get Active

Been meaning to get into some sort of exercise? Want a men’s focused session with other like-minded individuals? Come and join our Guys Get Active programme and start the year as you mean to go on. Sign up here!

There are two sessions groups to choose from: one is football based, the other is a group workout which are both tailored for you to achieve your fitness goals. Each week you’ll weigh in and receive nutrition advice from our qualified nutritionists to help you make healthy lifestyle changes.

Qualifying criteria

  • Male 18 years +
  • Live, work or  be registered with a GP in the Wandsworth borough
  • BMI of 27+ (to calculate your BMI click here)

Guys Get Active fitness session

Guys Get Active is a men’s only fitness based session. Our qualified personal trainer will introduce you to a range of exercise to improve your cardiovascular, muscular strength and endurance as well as your joint flexibility. Never get board, try a variety of different activities at each station, exercises can be adapted to suit individual needs. This session is suitable for all fitness levels including those who are returning to exercise or improve their exiting fitness levels.

Kick The Fat football session

Kick the Fat is a football league with a difference, it’s only for players who want to lose weight. On week two you will be placed into teams, after each weeks weigh in your weight loss will be calculated and converted into goals on the pitch.

Kick the Fat best suited for those who can sustain a jog and is perfect for all abilities, even if you haven’t played football for a long time. You don’t have to play every week as even non-playing team mates can still lose weight and contribute to the score.

What is the fee?

Programmes run throughout 2020 for between 10 to 12 weeks. The programme is subsided by Wandsworth council and the cost of each course is £20 to £24, working out at just £2 per session.

What if I’m not fit enough?

Everyone who is in the programme is in the same situation and wants to lose weight, and as you exercise more and lose more you’ll get fitter too. Don’t forget the weight lost each week will be converted into goals for the game, so you can still support the team as a non-playing member.

Can I join as a team as well as on my own?

Yes. You can join as a whole team, a few mates, or just as an individual. We’ll form the teams at our registration event shortly before the programme starts.

What’s included in the fee?

The fee covers everything needed for the programme – pitch and hall hire, coach, personal trainer, nutritionists, equipment, even some medals and trophies at the end of the course!
