Love Parks Walks

For a chance to learn more about Wandsworth’s greenspaces, come and join us for one of our guided walks over the summer! Listed below are a number of guided walks which aim to introduce people to the diverse history and biodiversity of Wandsworth’s parks as well as share some of the exciting projects that have been taking place in and are planned for these greenspaces.

Also check out the walks on offer through Walk Wandsworth at https://enablelc.org/walkwandsworth. Walk Wandsworth is an accredited walking scheme through Walking for Health that offers a series of free walks around the borough led by trained walk leaders.

Heathbrook Park and Montefiore Gardens Guided Walk

Date: Tuesday 23 July 2019
Time: 2pm to 4pm
Meeting location: Heathbrook Park, St Rule Street, SW8 3EH (entrance next to playground)
Free, booking required
Description: Come and join us for a guided walk through Wandsworth Council’s Heathbrook Park and Montefiore Gardens led by Enable Leisure and Culture Park Officers. The walk will offer the chance to explore ideas for future improvements to these greenspaces.
Meet at the entrance to Heathbrook Park on St Rule Street next to the playground for a 2pm prompt start. Please wear footwear and clothing suitable for walking outdoors. The walk will last for a maximum of 2 hours. If we need to cancel the walk at short notice due to weather, we will email you before noon on the day of the event.

Guided walk from Latchmere Recreation Ground to Christchurch Gardens

Description: Come and join us for a guided walk from Latchmere Recreation Ground to Christchurch Gardens led by Enable Leisure and Culture Park Officers. Meet at the entrance to Latchmere Recreation Ground on Burns Road, opposite Joubert Street for a 2pm prompt start. Please wear footwear and clothing suitable for walking outdoors. The walk will be led by Valerie Selby, Parks Development & Biodiversity Manager at Enable Leisure and Culture.

Tooting Common Acid Grassland Restoration and Lake Walk

Description: Come and learn about the nationally scarce and ecologically important acid grassland habitat on Wandsworth Council’s Tooting Common and the recent improvements made to the lake as part of the Tooting Common Heritage Project.
