Tree maintenance
Maintaining trees to some may seem rather unnecessary, however there is a duty of care on a tree owner which states they must ensure that any trees on their land are in a safe condition and have the correct paperwork to fully support this. This of course applies to Local Authorities also as they have many hundreds of trees in streets, parks, housing estates and schools. Maintenance may include thinning the crown to allow light through a tree, reducing the crown to change the shape or size, removing low branches over footways or roads and ensuring trees are safe by clearing any dead, split or hanging branches. This is also an opportunity to check for pest or diseases that may have appeared since the last inspection
