Summer Holiday Youth Café comes to Furzedown Rec
From this week every Tuesday and Thursday until 30th August 2022, not for profit Enable will host a Youth Café along with Furzedown Youth Club. These free sessions, delivered on behalf of Wandsworth Council, are aimed at young people aged 13 – 18. Free refreshments, snacks and activities with sports equipment provided, will all be on offer at the Tuesday and Thursday clubs which meet every week from 3-5pm.
There will also be a ‘girls only’ session within the Pavilion every Tuesday 3pm – 4pm, where the focus will be will on collaborating with the girls to deliver the specific activities that they would be keen to get involved with during this time.
While hosting regular summer activity, building on the existing use of the Youth Café by young people from Graveney during term time, it is hoped the sessions will also encourage positive usage of the space which packs much into its small area for people of every age – bowling green, tennis courts, picnic tables, play areas with ball games and small skate board court.
If you are or know a young person age 13-18 who would like to join either the mixed or female only sessions, all they need to do is drop in and join the fun (no need to pre-book)
