Wandsworth Council celebrates Silver Sunday
Wandsworth Council’s Bingo Bonanza
On Sunday 3rd October, Wandsworth Council and Enable Leisure and Culture will host a Silver Sunday event at Wandsworth’s Civic Suite.
The event will start at 2pm and there will be a series of Bingo sessions and prizes, alongside free tea and cake for all to enjoy. The event is free and there’s no need to book, doors open at 1.45pm. There will be limited capacity, so please arrive on time.
Come along for bingo and a brew and spend time with friends old and new! Meet like-minded people from the Wandsworth community on this afternoon out.
Silver Sunday is a national campaign that aims to help those of the older generation feeling lonely or isolated meet new friends, whilst enjoying a day of free activities. Find out more about Silver Sunday: https://silversunday.org.uk/
Brighter Living with Putney School of Art and Design
If you like the look of our Bingo Bonanza, Putney School of Art and Design are also supporting Wandsworth’s Brighter Living Fair the following weekend.
Putney School of Art and Design will host a drawing and painting Still Life experience on Sunday 10th October. This is another free chance to involve the older community in Wandsworth’s many opportunities and activities.
The school will be open 10am – 3pm, where experienced tutors will guide the sessions over four hours. Alongside the creative experience, there will also be refreshments on offer for all. The classes are free but will be at a limited capacity.
Brighter Living Fair is an event for adults looking for care and support services in Wandsworth that promote healthy, safe and independent lifestyles.
2020’s event was postponed. This year, the COVID-19 pandemic means we are unable to plan for a large-scale event as we have done in previous years. However, we are working with local organisations and putting on lots of smaller events between 1 and 10 October 2021, to coincide with the International Day of Older Persons.
