Wandsworth Council provide residents with a free fitness workout as part of Love Parks Wandsworth

Wandsworth Council is proud to bring back Love Parks Wandsworth for a third year, as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s national campaign, Love Parks. As always, the key focus is about loving your park or openspace, especially in these unprecedented times.

Wandsworth Council have teamed up with FitSW11 to provide a weekend exercise class for the community of Wandsworth, which is completely free. The class begins at 10am every Saturday at the Bowling Green in Battersea Park during the Love Parks Wandsworth campaign, it is suitable for all levels of fitness and is a great way to start the weekend!

Councillor Steffi Sutters, Cabinet Member for Community Services and Open Spaces, says:

“An all-inclusive exercise class is a great edition to the Love Parks Wandsworth campaign, ensuring that residents are able to use their parks and outdoor spaces to have fun, while exercising.

We are thrilled to collaborate with Michelle from FitSW11, who is known for her energetic, mood-lifting classes. Her dedication in encouraging the community to exercise is inspiring, making her a natural fit for the Love Parks Wandsworth Campaign”

Due to socially distancing guidelines, the class is restricted to 30 people per class, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Social distancing will be in place at all times, and hand sanitiser will be available for all participating in the class.

Michelle from FitSW11, who will guide you through the 45 minute session says:

“Being a local resident I have always visited beautiful Battersea Park as a child and with my own children. Love Parks Wandsworth aims to bring the community together to enjoy all the benefits the park has to offer and this is why I am so happy they have brought me and the FIT SW11 METHOD into the park with free weekly workout sessions for all, helping local residents and park users to get fitter and stronger together.”

Join Michelle from FitSW11 this Saturday to enjoy working out in one of London’s most iconic parks!
