Wandsworth Council is looking to provide £3,500 of funding to two budding film makers through the Wandsworth Short Film Fund.

The grant can be used to assist in the production or completion of short film projects and the scheme is open to film makers who live, work or study in Wandsworth.

A launch event is taking place on Friday 8 October at The Exhibit, Balham and is open to local film makers, producers and directors. Come along to find out more about the scheme, meet the funders, ask questions, catch up with last year’s awardees and watch highlights of their films.

Wandsworth Council deputy leader Cllr Jonathan Cook said:

“This scheme is part of our commitment to supporting our borough’s creative industry and can really open doors for up and coming filmmakers. It’s a terrific opportunity to secure funding and provides a high profile platform to showcase your work.”

Toby Fell Holden, writer/director of Balcony, received a grant through the fund last year. He said:

“Wandsworth Shorts Film Fund is part of Film London’s city-wide short film fund, London Calling, which is part of the BFI NET.WORK and supported by Creative Skillset. London Calling nurtures and champions the capital’s most exciting breakthrough filmmaking talent with a comprehensive package of production funding, training and expert mentoring.”
