Here are some of the courses we offer at PSAD:
Drawing & Painting Mixed Media (14 – 17 year olds)
Kids Art Club (8 – 13 year olds)
The course is an enjoyable and creative art club for children to express themselves through drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, craft and mixed media.
There will be a new project each session and materials are supplied.
Age range: 8-13 years (not accompanied by Adult)
Life Drawing for A Level and Portfolio Prep (14 – 17 year olds)
This course is ideal for students needing to build a portfolio of A Level course work, and possibly becoming part of a portfolio for art school. Also some students have used the sessions as an opportunity to extend a particular school project.
Working from the figure each student will explore a variety of approaches, using a range of media. The tutor will also use demonstrations to illustrate possible routes into the work.
During the first few weeks you will explore line and tone, depicting proportion, using ‘negative shapes’, and highlighting the importance of ‘alignment’ and the use of ‘axis lines’. Students will be encouraged to simplify the figure into masses, using a tonal approach and using line, then look at the figure as a series of shapes, which again simplifies the whole approach. These two approaches can then be combined.
Family Learning (7-13 years & their parent/carer)
Fun and creative sessions for both children and parents/carers together. some projects will be working together or along side each other as a family. These courses take place during the Half Terms/Easter break/Summer school in both Painting and Pottery.
Age range: 7-13 years (accompanied by Adult)
